Description
Every month has a full moon and every full moon has a name. This month's full moon happens today Friday December 6 2014. It is called 'The Cold Moon' rather appropriately.
As I said in my last moon featured piece
, I was going to capture the moon over the mountains on the night of the full moon. It is so bright here that the moon has lit up the mountains as if it was day time but you can still distinguish that the light is from the moon because of the silvery hue of the light and of course the dark skies.
FYI: The time the Moon makes a complete orbit around the Earth (sidereal period) is 27.321661 days. The time between two consecutive New moon phases is 29.53058867 days. lunaf.com/english/moon-phases/…
This piece is dedicated to a sweet and well natured friend, Miriam. I admire her enthusiasm for traveling and discovering new places and I appreciated our conversations about life in general while working together.
