I finally assembled and wired up H8, It is a complicated circuit made up of both electric and electronic circuits functioning with precision. It has a visual laser output that if pointed at you, it could effect your behaviour and judgement (Space Dementia) and eventually alter your life's path!

MUSE sings about this machine here: Muse - Origin of Symmetry - Space Dementia ----> [link]

The H8 is a 1970's personal computer made by Heathkit that you would put togeter your self from the plans and parts the provided. It had significantly less power than a typical mobile phone. ;)

Yes I agree, however, that is where myth and science meet and evolve into art, pseudoscience and conspirisy theory, not to mention songs that somehow manage to emotionally engage the audience. All that leads to more embellishment and imagination. Newer stories emerge, the art gets weirder and a cult, at least a mental cult forms around the entire collection of imagery, published history and imaginary components of the subject. Human history is full of this.

The 3 things you mentioned: 1970's-personal computer-put together yourself, tells me a lot about why H8 was important. Timing, access to machine and control. It tells me at the time with any computing power in it's infancy, a common person was able to take control of this new found tool and put it to use. It is like the first man that held and manipulated fire. We can make A bomb size fires now, so the man's first flame is insignificant?

Anyhow, I just am having fun here with concepts based on some kind of real life reference. :)
